Default Intermittent Performance with Sky Remote

I have a problem with my Sky remote. There are times when it works perfectly, but there are times that it doesn't do anything?

You might need to reset the remote when it fails to control your box. To do this:

- Press TV
- hold down the RED BUTTON and the SELECT KEY simultaneously until the red light blinks twice.
- enter 999 (wait for the red light to blink once, followed by two short blinks)

What this does is to reset your model code to the default (for older models, it's 038 for Rev. 8 it's 065). This may also clear any settings you've made for the macro or Key MAgic.

You would also need to enter the correct code for your TV afterward.

Uhm... I wouldn't recommend people to just reset their remotes. Remember that you would need to reconfigure it to work again on Sky+. If you don't know how to do this, then don't reset your remote. Tuning instructions may be found here: Sky Remote Tuning - SatChat ™ Satellite & Entertainment Forum

I've had the same problem a couple of months back and the solution was really simple, but there was really nothing wrong with my remote. I have a question for you, is your box on the set top or is it in a cabinet? If so, then the glass doors might be too thick or are reflecting light from your remote.
