Virgin Media said that problems at its Blueyonder data centre caused the email outage that happened last week. The trouble caused delays in accessing and sending emails.

Virgin says that no emails were lost, only that it arrived really late. Queues are not ok.

Virgin swears it was not a service outage, just delays or timeouts.

Boo for Virgin. Can you just imagine what would happen if they get the 50Mbps or the 200Mbps systems running? We could expect more like this.

I don't think that's a fair generalization. Technology can fail sometimes you know.

Well Virgin did not really specify the cause, except to say that it was hard to pin down...

Well, I'd agree with you that these things happen. Google was hit by an email outage for almost 2 hours.
